Building Department Forms
The Building Department is here for you and the safety of our Township residents. Most construction projects require building permits. The reason for a building permit is simply to insure that all construction projects are done according to the applicable codes. The most important item considered is that all projects are safe.
The State of Michigan requires all local jurisdictions to inspect projects for total assurance that you and your family
are kept safe and are not subjected to substandardor faulty construction. We are here to serve you and please feel
free to contact us with any constructions, concerns, or question.
Building Permits must be obtained from the Building Department before beginning any construction, remodeling, mechanical, electrical, or plumbing work. Purely cosmetic (non-structural) changes such as painting are exempt.
Rental Properties must be registered within the Township and inspected every two years or when there is a change of tenants.
Tenants - If you are the tenant of a rental property, please contact this department if you have any property maintenance concerns involving your rental. (i.e. no heat, no hot water, etc.)We will contact the landlord on your behalf to ensure that any code violations are corrected promptly.
